This is always a good time of year for an estate plan review. Unfortunately, due to the 3 L’s in life, an estate plan can quickly become outdated without you even knowing! The 3 L’s are: 1. Countless Changes in Laws, 2. Countless Changes in their Life with family and money matters and even many 3. Changes in the Learning in the Estate Planning Industry with better and improved ways to do things. Due to the 3 L’s it is a very good chance that the old estate plan will not work or in some cases may even be more detrimental to the client than they could ever imagine.
Ask yourself these questions?
How old is your current estate plan; Will, Trust, Health Care and Financial Power of Attorney?
Is your Trust properly “funded” with your assets and property?
Has your estate plan been “updated” to reflect the recent changes in the laws and changes in your life with family and finances?
Do you think your current estate plan will avoid probate court?
If something catastrophic happened to you (your disability or death) or your spouse tomorrow would your current estate plan protect you and your loved ones?
When is the last time you had your estate plan reviewed by a qualified estate planning attorney?
What are you waiting for??
